Astringents are acidic substances that stop sweating, retain diarrhea, control essence, hold urine and stop leukorrhea, bleeding, and coughing. They are indicated in cases of weakness due to chronic diseases or weak antipathogenic factor with priority symptoms of spontaneous sweating, night sweats, seminal emission, frequent urination, chronic cough and asthma, uterine bleeding, leukorrhea, and prolapsed uterus or rectum.
