Tao Ren (Semem Persicae) - Peach seed almond - 6 to 10 g
Shui Zhi (Hirudo your Whitmaniae) - Leech - 3 to 6 g or powder 0.3 to 0.5 g
Wang Bu Liu Xing (Semen Vaccariae Segetalis) - 6 to 10 g
These substances promote blood circulation, disperse blood stasis, relieve pain, restore menstrual flow and relieve swelling. They are indicated for diseases caused by blood stagnation or impaired circulation such as chest pain, epigastric and hypochondral pain, abdominal masses, dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, postpartum abdominal pain, trauma, rheumatic pain, carbuncles and ulcers.
As substances that promote Qi circulation can activate blood flow and Qi stagnation causes blood stagnation, substances that promote circulation and remove blood stagnation can be combined with substances that activate Qi circulation. Qi, in this way its effect is potentiated.
