1. WIND COLD TREATMENT

   These formulas have the action of expelling the cold wind from the surface that present with chills, fever, occipital stiffness, pain and weakness in the limbs.

   Tongue: thin white coating

   Pulse: Shallow

a) Ma Huang Tang  - action on the Lungs or skin, ceases coughing, lowers Lung Qi.

b) Gui Zhi Tang - action on the muscles, relaxes the muscles, harmonizes the Stomach.

c) Jia Wei Xiang Su San - action in the interior/deep, runny nose, pain in the body.

2. HEAT TREATMENT

   These expel heat wind which present fever, headache, dry mouth.

   Pulse: shallow and fast

  

a) Sang Ju Yin - action on the upper airways at an early stage, with slightly dry mouth and larynx, mild cough, heat and dryness in the lung.

b) Yin Giao San - action on the throat with swelling and pain.

c) Chai Ge Jie Ji Tang - action of removing heat from the blood: nasal dryness with bleeding, malaise, pain in the body, eyes and head.

3. TREATMENT OF WEAK VITAL ENERGY WITH EXTERNAL PATHOGEN INVASION

a) Ren Shen Bai Du San - action to tonify the Qi: headache, stiffness in the neck, pain and heaviness in the limbs, stuffy nose.

b) Ma Guang Fu Zi Xi Xen Tang - action in tonifying yang: cold limbs, watery diarrhea, weak physicality.

c) Jia Jian Wei Rui Tang - action to tonify the yin and refresh the Blood: fever in the body, dry mouth and throat.
