Eliminates moisture, favors diuresis, clears the urinary tract, drains cloudy fluid, treats moisture and edema syndromes.

  1. Outdoor humidity: rain, humid places, humid climatic environment.

  2. Internal Moisture: Excessive food from cold and raw food, alcohol, fatty food, excessive accumulation of cloudy internal moisture, and BP malfunction.

   The organ that produces water is the Kidney, what controls the water is the Spleen, who regulates the water is the Lung,  who evaporates is the Bladder and  who controls the passage of water is the Triple Heater.

​

   Moisture is the result of the functional disharmony of the three organs: Lung, Spleen and Kidney and as a consequence of the functional failure of the Bladder and Triple Burner.

   Moisture is expelled through the pathways:

- dispersive and sweating herbs: if moisture is in the upper part of the body and in the surface layer.

- aromatic herbs: to stimulate an osmotic and diuretic effect.

- warming the yang to eliminate the cold.

- eliminating heat and transforming moisture.

- eliminate the pathogen and tonifies vital energy in cases where moisture invades a physically weak body.

   Dampness is manifested by bodily fatigue, heaviness in the limbs, lack of courage, hinders the movement of Qi. When Qi moves, it transforms moisture and when Qi moves, water flows.

   Moisture is treated in five ways:

- drying moisture and adjusting the Stomach.

- eliminating heat and expelling moisture.

- warming and transforming moisture and edema.

- expelling wind and resolving moisture.

- favoring diuresis and osmosis.

1.DRY THE MOISTURE AND ADJUST STOMACH

​

a) Huo Xiang Zheng Qi San  - Disperses superficial syndrome and transforms moisture, regulates Qi and harmonizes the center. For canicular heat stroke syndrome. For patients with cold due to stagnation of moisture in the Spleen and Stomach.

b) Ping Wei San  - Dries moisture, rehabilitates BP, moves Qi and adjusts Stomach. For blocking moisture in the Medium Triple Heater with fullness and heaviness in the gastro-abdominal region, nausea and vomiting. 

Tongue: with white and greasy coating.

Pulse: slow

2. ELIMINATE HEAT AND EXPEL MOISTURE

​

   Caused by wet heat exopathogen generating jaundice,  joint pain and atrophy.

​

a) Yin Chen Gao Tang  - Eliminates heat, favors diuresis and reduces jaundice (yellow). Symptoms such as fever, sweating of the head, dry mouth (yellow fever).

Tongue: yellow greasy coating

Pulse: deep, fast and sliding or deep and strong

b) Er Miao San  - Eliminates heat and dry moisture, atrophy of lower limbs with weakness, swollen and painful ankles, leukorrhea, cloudy and dripping urine. Moist heat syndrome in the Lower Triple Burner such as rheumatic arthritis, vulvitis, scrotal eczema, etc.

Tongue: greasy yellow coating

Pulse: sliding

c) San Ren Tang  - Promotes the free flow of Qi, eliminates heat and favors diuresis. Removes stagnation of damp heat from the Triple Warmer that hinders Qi movement. Symptoms of poor appetite, poor bowel movement, yellowish urine.

Tongue: greasy white coating

Pulse: hidden and slow or hidden and fast.

d) Ba Zheng San  - Eliminates damp heat in Triple Bottom Heater, purge fire in Triple Bottom Heater  and unclogs the urethra. Moist heat sedimented and accumulated in the bladder  causes obstruction of the urethral canal, burning, retention of urine, and a feeling of a full bladder with urgent pain (urine infection).

3. HEAT AND TRANSFORM EDEMA

   Moisture syndrome with edema and phlegm formed by cold inertia or yang insufficiency.

The)  Zhen Wu Tang - Warms yang and favors diuresis. Kidney yang insufficiency syndrome and internal stagnation of Qi and water, heaviness and pain in limbs, edema of the body and limbs. This formula promotes urine, corrects the negative effects of dryness protecting yin and soothes pain.

B)  Ling Gui Zhu Gan Tang  - Warms and transforms TanYin, strengthens the Spleen and promotes diuresis. Symptoms of pain and fullness in the abdominal and hypochondriac regions. The formula expector mucus, heats and moves yang, strengthens the spleen and drains moisture.

4. ELIMINATE WIND AND MASTER HUMIDITY

   These formulas are used for Bi syndrome with pain. Blockage of cold wind and humidity (rheumatism).

The)  Gui Zhi Shao Yao Zhi Mu Tang - Chronic Wind Heat and Humidity BI Syndrome (Rheumatism) by   accumulation of pathogens (cold wind and humidity). Swollen and painful joints with burning heat (rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, etc).

B)  Du Huo Ji Shen Tang - Tones the Qi, chronic Bi syndrome with pain (wind damp and cold). Disperses wind, eliminates moisture, makes joints flexible. Excessive cold syndrome with pain in the spine and joints and knees. for rheumatoid arthritis, chronic spinal injury, sciatica, bone porosity (osteoporosis).

5. OSMOTIC AND DIURETIC FUNCTION

   Urinary retention syndromes, stranguria (painful urination), cloudy urine, edema, etc.

​

The)  Wu Ling San - Increases the yang Qi of the Bladder. Promotes yang, favors evaporation and facilitates diuresis. For discomfort in the lower abdomen due to fullness and dilatation in the Bladder.

B)  Wu Pi Yin - Due to accumulation of moisture due to spleen deficiency with superficial edema and mild severity.

Tongue: sticky white coating

ç)  Zhu Ling Tang  - Eliminates heat by diuresis, tonifies yin, urinary pain, kidney stones, hematuria. Sensation of fullness in the bladder. Used for urinary tract infections.

Tongue: Red and little coating, but wet and slippery
