RESUSCITING FORMULAS
They are made from a combination of aromatic and resurgent herbs that work to open the orifices and resurrect the mind.
Differentiation of mental confusion and unconsciousness syndromes:
1. Failure syndrome
Open mouth and loose hands, very weak breathing, cold sweat on icy limbs, loss of physiological needs, pulse almost gone.
One should quickly and energetically tonify the Yang Qi and avoid the collapse of the Yang using the formulas:
- Shen Fu Tang and
- Si Ni Jia Ren Shen Tang .
2. Mental block syndrome
a) heat blocking
High fever, mental confusion, possible muscle seizure, rapid pulse. It must be treated by eliminating the heat and resurrecting the mind. The formulas known as the three treasures that refresh the mind are:
- An Gong Niu Huang Wan (+++ cold action)
- Zi Xue Dan (++ cold)
- Zhi Bao Dan (+ cold)
b) cold blocking
White coating, slow pulse, no appearance of heat. Warm up to clear and resurrect the mind. The formula Su He Siang Wan (warm resuscitation) is used.
CARE

2.a. ANTIPYRETIC RESUSCITATION FORMULAS
Eliminates heat and resurrects the mind, characterized by penetration of poisonous heat into the pericardium. Treats apoplexy, convulsion by mucus-exudative blockage and loss of consciousness by cloudy agents associated with heat .
- An Gong Niu Huang Wan is more suitable for eliminating pathogenically very exuberant heat;
- Zi Xue Dan is suitable for calming wind and subduing hepatic wind convulsion triggered by exuberance of heat;
- Zhi Bao Dan is more suitable for resurrecting the mind in cases of unconsciousness caused by cloudy mucus that clogs orifices in the mind.
2.b. WARM RESUSCITATION
They are more suitable for treating cold block syndrome such as stroke, seizure due to mucus-exudative obstruction, and unconsciousness caused by intense cold with sudden loss of consciousness, clenched teeth not knowing how to speak, and lack of heat. White coating, slow pulse, etc.
- Su He Siang Wan opens the orifices, moves the qi and calms the pain. Treat sudden coma due to apoplexy or attack by cloudy or pestilent pathogens with clenched teeth without awareness or treat blocked qi syndrome due to cold with severe pain in the cardio-thoracic and abdominal region, coma state or unconsciousness due to mucus-exudative obstruction with manifestation of noisy breathing.
It can be used to treat heart disease, angina, or cramping pain in the cardio-thoracic or abdominal region caused by cold and qi stagnation.
This formula is unsuitable for pregnant women (attacks fetal energy) and in cases of yang collapse.
The medicine Guan Xin Su He Wan born This formula is good for angina or colic pain from heart attack.
